Introduction
Tai (太) means “grand” and Chi (极)means “ultimate” in Chinese. According to ancient Chinese philosophers, the word tai chi described the grand and ultimate state that existed before the creation of heaven and earth. They believed that this energy was composed of two opposite parts. The positive or yang (阳) form, and negative or the yin (阴)form. It was this energy that created and governed the universe. It was this energy that’s in all living beings. The essence of the practice of Tai Chi is to cultivate one’s life energy or chi(气)so that the practitioner can become a better and stronger living being. Since Tai Chi is an art form based on martial application, its philosophy is also closely related to martial art theory. The word martial or ( 武) in Chinese consisted of the three characters in the graphic form. The three characters are (止) which means to stop, (二) which means two, and (弋) which means weapon. The original meaning of the word martial is to stop crossing of weapons or to stop war or violent. Therefore, the true meaning of martial art training is a way for mental, physical, and spiritual developments. A great martial artist is one who is strong both mentally and physically. One who is at peace with himself and live in harmony with other and nature. The way or dao (道) of Tai Chi is peace.

Master Wen Peng
is the 12th generation practitioner of the Zhao Bo Tai Chi system. He studied and trained with the renounce Tai Chi master Mr. Song Yun Hua. He is well versed in Tai Chi theory as well as Tai Chi application. He is a wonderful teacher using a very modern approach as to his teaching of Tai Chi.

 赵堡太极拳简介
赵堡太极拳发祥地赵堡镇,位于中国河南温县东十四华里处﹐是一个典型的中国北方集镇。 赵堡镇南眺黄河北堤,北望太行山麓,东達京津,西接絡伊;自古以来交通便利,商业兴隆。 传说战国时期赵国曾屯兵於清地的金银冢,故得名“赵堡”,后世沿用。远在明末清初,赵堡人蒋发师承山西王宗岳太极拳艺,后择贤授艺于本镇门人邢希怀, 方使赵堡古镇再以武术闻名遐而。康熙年间,四皇子胤祯(雍正帝)慕名到赵堡镇访查太极高手,在赵堡镇关帝庙亲笔题字:“乾坤正气”借以褒扬赵堡太极拳师的高超武功。赵堡太极拳素以“硬如刚,软如棉,滑如鱼,粘如鳔”称著于天下,其功架姿勢雅静优美,和谐自然,运动如行云流水,飘然逸群。拳艺理论以“易经”,“中庸”,“理学”为其骨架,交融“三教”, 奇思鼏想,饶有哲理之丰采。 其技击变化云譎波诡,驚世骇俗,令人扑朔迷离。赵堡太极拳在其发展的历史长河里。 曾因保守的宗法观念单传七代,素有“赵堡拳不出村”之说。 十九世纪末期,始破单传门规, 授徒多人。 二十世纪三十年代,赵堡太极拳第十代宗师郑悟清先生(1895 – 1984)和郑伯英先生(1906- 1961)先后走出赵堡古镇,才彻底结束了“赵堡拳不出镇”的历史。 二公相继定居西安,以毕生心血弘扬光大太极拳艺,使其得以广泛流传。 赵堡太极拳第十一代宗师宋蕴华先生及其弟子赵堡太极拳第十二代传人彭文先生於二十世纪九十年代,又将赵堡太极拳艺传播于香港及海外﹐并创立“国际太极易拳道”,受到社会各界广泛好评。彭文先生现任教於美国峨嵋太极学院。
